I am an American Indian, Mescalero Apache. Because I was born on this continent I am a Native American. Two of my granddaughters are one forth Apache but are not Native American as they were born in England which makes them Native Britons.I am also an Historian on American Indian Cultures. No tribe had kings, princeses or queens.A chief may have had a daughter but in most tribes she had no better standing than other young girls. One's standing in a tribe was earned by the individual. My wife has an over 300 year family history on the Missisissippi Gulf Coast and we have traced two of her family names back to the 1500's in France, thanks to people in the know like Nap Cassibry and Randall Ladnier.PLEASE DON'T USE PRINCES WHEN REFERING TO PEOPLE OF THE FIRST NATIONS.
