Andres, thanks for the response. Crucoli is perhaps far enough away from Pianopoli (which is between Catanzaro and San Pietro Apostolo) that close kinship is unlikely, but certainly my great-grandmother could be a cousin to your great-grandfather. My grandfather Chiefalo was born in 1888, so my great-grandmother Fazio is a generation earlier. From other conversations, South America was a common destination for migrants from Calabria.
