From one aussie to another - at least we speak the same lingo.

Like you I do wish people would put names, dates and places.

I found one in Ireland looking for Edinburgh, and another in Wales looking for David Jones (only half the male population)

My Fearnley family come from Landgate Farm, near Ashton in Makerfield. I have a single line back to 1800, but can't find a common link to other families.I suspect many of the Fearnley's in this forum from the Wigan - St Helens area may descend from the same stock.

Have you got back that far or have any thoughts?

If you send me some other surnames from that area I can have a look and possibly suggest some appropriate local sites.

I live in Sydney at Pennant Hills. I'll bet you're at Cherrybrook. If you are in Sydney, send me an email and I'll give you a ring.
