An Ellinor Fearnley married John Moorhouse 19th Feb. 1750 at Pontefract (St Giles Church) West Riding of Yorkshire.I'm researching the Moorhouse side but am stuck pre-1773 at Pontefract. The Moorhouse family I'm researching ,William Moorhouse ,born around 1750 , was a ship owner, limestone merchant and later his son ,William also went into the profession. The Knottingley and Ferrybridge areas had smaller sloops/sailing ships that travelled the Aire River I think. They were not "Peerage" but were "well off" with a French Governess and several servants. They married into other families that had some money behind them e.g. The "Sefton" family and the "Carter" family of Howden,Yorkshire.Does anyone know of the Fearnley /Moorhouse marriage?
