I have traced my line of Fearnleys back to the mid 1600s in Gomersal. My Grandfather, Harry Fairfax Fearnley lived at Fieldhead House which is now #215 & #217 Latham Lane, Gomersal. He came to Canada in 1898 and left his older brother, John Byass Frank Fearnley, b.1869 d.1935 in posession of the house. My great grandfather was John Fearnley b.1835 d.1918 married Jane Byass 1867. He had three older sisters, Elizabeth, Sarah & Mary Ann. His father was Samuel Fearnley b.1790 d.1843, married Mary Poole 1830. Samuel's father was another Samuel b.1740 d.1816, married Sarah Burnall 1788. The senior Samuel had several brothers and sisters; Joseph, Benjamin, John, Mary & Jane. The senior Samuel's father was Benjamin Fearnley b.1696 d.1777 married to Martha Leathley 1729. He also had several brothers and sisters; Randall, John, Mary, Joseph, Rachel, Hannah, & Martha. Their father was Joseph Fearnley b.1637 d.1714. Jopeph's father was John Fearnley b.1607 d.1688 married Mary Balle 1636.

I have earlier records that are less accurate.

I would be very interested if you are connected to my line of Fearnleys. I visited Gomersal this past April and was disapointed that I was not able to find any relatives. If you could connect me to the desendents of my great uncle's familly, John Byass Frank Fearnley, I would be greatful.

Ken Fearnley, Alberta, Canada
