I have the 1850 cenus for Tuscaloosa,AL which lists James Fears age 62 (GA farmer), married to Judith Binion age 52, children: Richard, James (AL), Elizabeth, John, Margaret, Benjamin.
There is also Judith's fathers will, William Binion (Tuscaloosa, AL) married to Jane dated May 23-27 1842.
Tract Book Tuscaloosa, AL lists:
James Fears rec'd land for service in War of 1812 Sept 22, 1851 by Military Grant of 1850.
James Fears, Capt Kennedy's Co., GA., Militia War 1812 served Jan 26, 1815 to Mar 1 1815. In the state of AL, County of Tusc. on Dec 5, 1850, he declares he was a corporal in Co. of George Kennedy of the Augusta Independent Blues, War of 1812, was mustered into service of U.S. at Savannah 1815 for no definite period. Discharged at Savannah after 2mos or over after disbanding of the army after peace was known.
On Sept 1855, James age 66 declared he was a private in George Canady's Co, Rec'd land warrent No. 19233 for 40 acres.
I have other info on this James Fears, such as a picture of his grave and other geneology. It might be easier to mail it to you via U.S. post which I'm doing for other people. Thanks, Paula
