I listed the Rev. War records for Edmund Fears of Burke Co. in the previous post. Here's the record for the other Edmund Fears, son of Absolom.
-----------------------------------------------------------EDMUND - SON of ABSOLOM of VIRGINIA :
FEARS, EDWARD or EDMUND FEAR, R3474, Va. Line, Sol. appl. 7 Dec. 1835, White
Co., ILL., aged 71, sol. lived in Prince Edward Co., Va. at enl., in 1852 a daughter NANCY
PERRET aged 42 a res. of Bond Co., ILL. stated she was the sole heir of dec'd sol. &
that sol. died 15 Apr. 1844.
ABSTRACTS OF REV. WAR PENSION FILES, page 1167
NOTE: age 71 when applied in Dec. 1835 = born in "1764".
-----------------------------------------------------------
The following records indicate that there was a person named "EDMOND FAIR" in Burke Co., NC
from 1787 to 1799.
The Burke Co. records of "EDMUND FEARS" were from 1778 to 1794.
The 12 Nov. 1782 Tory Court Case has Edmund & Silence "FARES", so it does not pin down which one it really is.
The records definitely indicate that there were two distinctly different Edmunds. One a FEARS and one a FAIR.
Therefore a safe assumption would be that there were 2 women named Silence. The FEARS one (m. abt 1860) was the oldest from VA and the FAIR one was the younger.
