Richard Counts married Julia McClain or McClane 11 Sep 1838 in Washington County, Missouri. He appears in Washington County 1840 Census with a wife and a female child under 5. This female is Nancy Ellen Counts. Richard never appears in census records again that I can tell; however, the family grew between 1840 and 1860. The family moved south to Shannon County or Reynolds County depending on the year they moved. Julia can be found through 1870 and probably 1880 (I just haven't researched her that far).

James Fears and Nancy Counts Fears are in Iron County, Missouri by 1880.

Richard may have had a brother William Counts who is on the same page of the 1840 Washington County with Richard and William remained in Washington County in 1850.
