Elizabeth Brown, daughter of James Fears of VA

I just wanted to "clear-up" some confusion about the referenced Elizabeth Brown who was a daughter of the James Fears who left his Will in VA in 1797. That Elizabeth Brown was NOT the Mrs. Elizabeth (Atkins) Brown who was the wife of a John C. Brown in Prince Edward Co., VA (they married there in 1756). A man who used to post here named Gordie Fears was wondering about that a few years ago. The daughter of James Fears named Elizabeth must have married some other Brown man.

Also, the above John C. Brown who married Elizabeth Atkins was a son of a William and Elizabeth (Unknown) Brown of Amelia/Prince Edward Co., VA. That John C. Brown should not be confused with the (probably unrelated) John Colwell Brown who was a son of Valentine Brown of Lunenburg Co., VA (some have confused those two John C. Browns).

I have not attempted to determine the Mr. Brown who was the apparent husband of Elizabeth Fears. If anyone can ever determine just who he was, please post that information here. The John C. Brown who married Elizabeth Atkins was in NC by the 1780s.
