Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Mary--I'm certain you won't find any connection, because my FEARYs were immigants from the Palatine area of Germany, and before that probably Switzerland. My 3G-grandfather signed his name F-e-a-r-y, probably because it sounded that way to him, but the German spelling was likely FURRY, with an umlatt, or a variation thereof. Most FEARYS, FUHRYs and FURRYs are Irish, except in S.E. PA, where so many Swiss/Germans settled and the names FERREE, which started out as FIERRE, and the name FORREY, or the name FUHRER all took on these different spellings. Confusing, to say the least.
