Yes,
There is a followup.
Just who are the Peter Feather, Jr and the George Fetter who married the Oplinger sisters?
They are not brothers, but first cousins.
As mentioned, Peter is the son of
Peter Feather (1725-1801)x Maria Appolonia LeVan (1730-1801) of Berks Co, PA
George was a missing link in the family of Peter's brother:
Johan Bernhard Feather (c1727-1777) x Maria Gertraut (c1729-1792) of Lancaster Co, PA.
Bernard had a family of 8.
The 5th child is John George Fetter (1756-) of whom we know nothing.
But if we toss the familiar name Johann (John) out, then we have a George Fetter, first cousin of Peter, living in the same county at the same time, and perfect for being a match with the George that married the Oplinger sister.
George's siblings lived in Warwick Twp; Lampeter Twp; New Hanover Twp; and Cocalico Twp all of Lancaster County.
Be wary that Lancaster County in 1750 was MUCH bigger than the county of today and included portions that were spun off as other counties.
Any way,
There you have the whole story.
Bernhard also came over on the Neptune in 1746 and from near Frankenthal.
Not too bad for starting from scratch to solve a mystery that had bugged you for years.
Enjoy!!
