I descend from George and Mary (Bailey) Featherkile who married July 30, 1799 in Nelson Co., KY. Their daughter Polly married Malachi Jones Tyler January 14, 1817 in Nelson Co., KY. They eventually ended up in Orange Co., IN.

I saw a War of 1812 muster roll that listed "George Feathercoil" as being in Captain Samuel William's company of the 5th Regiment Kentucky Volunteers. They were mustered in August 15, 1812. This company marched to Canada and fought in the battle of River Raisin in 1813 where everyone that wasn't killed was taken prisoner. Has anyone written the National Archives to get his military record? Could this be the same George who married Mary Bailey. I have a ton of information on the Battle of River Raisin, but haven't gone through it all to find Featherkile's name. Thanks.

Jim Sellars
