Today,7 Jun 2008, I was working my way through the Drouin genealogy books for Ontario, Canada. And what to my wondering eyes did appear - but several birth/baptisms of children for Magloire Filteau and Catherine Dompierre were in Tecumseh, Ontario in the 1860s - about 12 miles east of Detroit. The names of those children match the names (and ages, in sequence) of the children of Michael Fecto and his wife Catherine who appeared in the 1870 census in Detroit. I am now 100% convinced that Magloire and Michael are the same people.
