Filteau, Hormisdas Oct. 11, 1866

I'm hoping someone can help me. My great-grandfather's name was Hormisdas Filteau, born on Oct. 11, 1866. He came to western Canada at the age of 17 along with a brother, Napoleon, a sister, Delia, and their father's third wife (name unknown). This third wife was not Hormisdas' biological mother. According to our scant records, Hormisdas was from Trois-Rivieres, although I have my doubts that he was born there. I suspect somewhere like Beauce or Sorel. Since these three young Filteaus left Quebec in 1883 or 1884 with their father's third wife, I suspect the father may have died not too long before, possibly 1880-1883.

I'm wondering (and hoping) if anyone has information that may fit - a Filteau probably born around 1840, eventually having 3 wives, children named Hormisdas (born Oct. 11, 1866), Napoleon, Delia, and dieing in the early 1880s. Of course, I may be totally wrong here, but then again, maybe not.

Any help would be appreciated.
