The first Feemsters we know of arrived in Savannah Ga in 1736 on the ship The Simmons. It was one of Oglethorpe's ships. Some of the passengers on that ship were John & Charles Wesley (yep, founders of the Meth. Church), John Feemster, his wife, one son & his mother Mary Feemster. Mary is buried at Rock Hill SC. She died July 1776. John & his wife had 2 other sons in SC. One was named Samuel & he moved to north Alabama. I am entering this off the top of my head & so details are few at this time. There was an older gentleman named Roy Feemster who traveled the country doing Feemster research. I have some of his information. Will post more later when I have my papers with me or will answer inquiries.
