Thank you for your response. My father told me that the Feemsters were related to the reknowned actress, Tulula Bankhead, (Don't know if Tulula is spelled correctly)from a prominent family for whom the Bankhead highway in Alabama and Georgia is named. Do you know anything about that?
Also, is the name Feemster Dutch or German? It doesn't matter to me either way, I just always wanted to know. My father said it was German, however, I've seen a lot of Dutch names with the double letters; and I've seen Feemster spelled Fiemster or Feimster (which I thought would be the German spelling). Then I've seen it spelled Phemster. What do you know about that?
