Hello Beverly,
My name is Jean Hyde. My Feemster line is from Mississippi. We are African American. My grandfather name was Charle Feemster. He married Mattie Harmon. They lived in Macon, Mississippi. Seven children were born. Two died at birth. The children name were Henry, Elizabeth,Bertha,Charles Jr. and Mattie. My grandmother left her husband, taking her children and moved to St. Louis, MO. I have been trying to find which Feemster came to Noxubee County, Ms with slaves. I cannot find my grandfather, Charles parents. I have found some Feemsters in Lowndes and Pontotoc County, Mississippi. I know the Feemsters came from South Carolina, but which Feemsters did my line started from. Yes, many owners took the trip to the slave quarters or had mistresses.
