Samuel Feemster, b 1738, d 7-17-1816. Married Margaret Jamieson in 1769 in Chester Co. SC. She died 10-21-1828 in Chester Co.

Samuel had two brothers: Joseph and William D. Samuel also had a son named William, b 2-23-1773. He married Margaret Kolb.

Samuel's father was John Feemster who was, apparently the first Feemster settler to come to the US. I have conflicting information as to who Samuel's mother was. According to one of my sources of information, her name was Elizabeth. She and John married in Ireland in 1734. Joseph was born in Ireland in 1735 so evidently came to America as a small child. Samuel was born in 1738 in Chester Co. SC.

There is a Mary Feemster buried in the Bullock Creek Cemetery (Southwest corner of York County near the Chester Co line) Mary's marker states "died July 1776 in Old Age". I do not think she was Samuel's mother - the dates just do not fit. However, I do not have much concrete information about Elizabeth either.

I do know that William D. changed the spelling of Feemster to Feimster. He had a falling out with his brother Samuel and changed the spelling. Don't know what that was all about.

Samuel's branch became known as "That Moving Clan" and Joseph's known as "The Stay At Home Clan".

Some of Samuel's decendents (mine) migrated to Alabama then on to Texas.

Samuel's children were: John Silas, b 1771, Wm D, b 1773, Samuel, b 1775, Ann, b 1778, and Joseph, b 1780.

Which one are you decended from?
