Bill, A family historian around the area has recommended New England Historical & Genealogy Soc, Boston as the best place to find Marriage & Death certs for Ma if you can't get there yourself, or get to state archives or NARA in Waltham. NEHGS charge (have a website)to look up there microfilms, but it could be the quickest way to find a number of documents showing Kate's age & birthplace.
