high cousin jeff i am your cousin patricia from england i have been very busy all this year decorating my bedroom i have also lost 3 stone and hope to lose more even with chirstmas comeing along i am still going to be good. I a have found alot more on the feeneys i have tried to get our greatgrandfarthers birth certificate but the problem is he was born before the registrar was started in 1864. But i have got some good news i have actually got our greatgrandfarthers wedding certificate i have found out where the conrys came from and sarah conrys farthers name which is john conry the conrys have come from derryquick which is right near lisnanean. lisnanean is where your grandfarther was born. i have also got a census return of 1901 sarah was 42 and i know that great grandfarter feeny went to liverpool to find work and he used to send money home for nanny conry i have also got his death certifiacate. and i have your grandfarther on the census return and he was aged 17 so i think that he was born in 1885 my grandafarther was on there he was about 7 also i have found out that sarah conry came from roscommon because the census in the 1800s were destroyed in dublin there were some census returns that were saved but not all. There was trouble in dublin in i think about 1900 but that is all i know.I have also got the 1847 griffiths evaluation tax and have found out that greatgreatgrandfarther was john feeny spelt in a diffenrent way also i a have a bernard feeny. i also have a map of where all the feenys lived and how much they paid greatgreatgrandfarther feeny paid and who to which was a robert nolan. but because bernard and john both lived so near to each other we think that they could be brothers. and i think that your grandfarther was born 100yds from the old feeny house. There is one lot of feenys on the left and there is one lot of feenys on the right well the ones on the right are related to us. i have also will be getting greatgreatgreatuncle bernard feenys death certifcate. i have also found out that bernard had lived and died in the strokestown workhouse but i am very disspointed that i could not get our greatgreatgrandfarther death certificate. also i a have found that bernard had no next of kin so i can't find out who his wifes name was. But what i am going to do is write off to roscommon libary and see if they have a list of everyone in the workhouse. At least i have found that the feenys were in roscommon in lisnaneen in 1847. could you write down for me a gain how your mother and farther were cousins because i thought that if they were greatgrandfarther john feeny would have had to had a sister so this sister of greatgrandafarther feeny went and married a grant or am i wrong. would you know her name and what year she was born. on our greatgrandfarthers wedding certifiacate it says he was of age so i think that he was born in about 1851 to have married in 1871. this is the feeny family tree so far.

if i can find any more infroamation on the feenys i will snde it to you. i am glad that when your mum came to ireland that she had found ireland great.
i have also found out that the feenys i am 100% sure came from galway. because i have already written off to the sligo county heritage socirety which deals in census returns births ceritifcates and they could not find any feenys and also they wrote back in the letter and said that because of the poor roads and system they did not think that the feenys from lisnaan would have gone that far and when you look on the map of ireland galway is nearer.
i hope that you find this information okay.
