John Ford, the great movie director, was born John MartinFeeney in 1894 in Cape Elizabeth Maine. His parents were Barbara Curran and John Agustine Feeney, both of them from Spiddal, Ireland. John Agustine's father was Patrick Feeney who married Mary Curran. They had 13 children. Barbara Curran, John Ford's mother, was a second cousin to his father. Barbara's father was a Frank Curran and the grandfather Nicholas. This information is contained in "Searchingfor John Ford" by Joseph McBride. I am interested in developing the Curran side of the family since I am related to him through the Currans. Any information would be appreciated.
