Dear Jim
It was the names Thomas, James, John etc. that have prompted me to write to you.
My great grandfather, Patrick Feeney (born 15.10.1886)came to Australia with his brother Thomas in 1889. His older brother James who married Margaret Callaghan in Kilmessan County Meath was already in Australia having travelled in 1875.
Patrick, Thomas and James' parents were John and Catherine Feeney (nee Lynch). Other brothers and sisters were:- Rose bp Aug 1, 1850, Elleanor bp October 16, 1859.
They all lived in a town called Tallybaum Clonbroney Longford. There was another Feeney family also living in the township (farming 10 or so acres) Patrick and Margaret Feeney (Faye). Patrick died in 1871 at 75 years of age. Another Feeney researcher believes that Patrick Feeney (m. Margaret Faye) and John Feeney (m. Catherine Lynch) were brother and sister. We have been unable to search the parents of neither Patrick nor John Feeney. Can you see any similarities with these families, Jim? I would love to hear from you,
