Dear Helen
My great-great grandfather, Thomas, was born in County Westmeath about 1814. Sometime between 1870 and 1880 he appears in the US census for Will County, Illinois, living next to his son, John. John was about 16 or 17 years of age when he came to the US. He married Bridget Horan in 1868 in Will County, Illinois. My grandfather, James, was born in 1869 in Will County.

Recently I received information indicating that Thomas and his family may have lived in the Quebec area of Canada before they emmigrated to the US. I knew he had emmigrated from Ireland to Canada before coming to the US but did not know when or where.

At this point I don't see any connection between our Feeney ancestors but I'll keep your information handy in case new information becomes available.

Thanks for contacting me.

Jim Winkler
