Hello Maryann:

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,800,000 surviving rcds for abt 70% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Cos. Donegal and Derry were recently added to the database.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 30%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome), and the National Library of Ireland on microfilm.

For H(anora) Feeney B before 1860, Kilbride RC parish, Co. Roscommon, with a father forenamed De(nis), I found 1 rcd for an HONERA, 1843.

For Mic(hael) Feeney B ditto, I found 1 rcd, 1845.

For Br(igid) Feeney B ditto, I found 1 rcd, 1837.

For Ann Feeney B ditto, I found 1 rcd, 1840.

For Edw(ard) Feeney B ditto, I found 0 rcds.

Four out of five isn't bad. Some of the four, likely all, are for your ancestors. A view of the detailed rcds MAY reveal the townland(s) - probably the same one. The views SHOULD also list the parent's names to help validate them. They may also reveal more info on the parents.

For De(nis) Feeney M 1833 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Roscommon, I found 0 rcds.

For Mary Hoban M ditto, 3 rcds. However, without a rcd for Denis, these are likely all false positives. They may have married outside of Roscommon.

For De(nis) Feeney B ????, Co. Roscommon, I found no rcds earlier than 1845 - too late for your timeline. There also are NO B rcds in the rest of Ireland in 1812 +/- 5 yrs. There are 2 Luke B rcds within this range.

For Mary Hoban B ditto, I found 2 rcds: 1811 and 1816, neither in Kilbride parish. There is a slim chance one may be for this ancestor.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
