Felice and De Felice and Di Felice names

Hello to all
Just wondering if there is a big difference in with or without the prefixes De and Di.

Alphabetically this could cause confusion of D vs F first letter, but what else.

Of course, the prefixes mboth mean *of*, but what else beyond that?? Hust simpification or Americanization of the name??

Joe
