I have tracked Lydander Felt to Humbolt County, Calif. He received the Civil War pension of his son, Austin P. Felt, who died during the War. I have a copy of the pension record from teh National Archives. Included in the pension record were several letters from Austin to his parents. Lysander apparently submitted them to teh pension office as proof that Austin had been providing a significant portion of the family income, and thus he (Lysander) should be entitled to Austin's pension.

According to the pension record, Austin served in the 5th Minn. Vol. Inf. Co. "A', and he died July 18, 1863 on the transport boat "Nashville", enroute from Vicksburg to St. Louis. He died of Intermittent Fever.

I would be interested in sharing Felt info with you, please contact me.
