Hi Katherine,
I should have added to my post. My ggrandmother on my
paternal side was annie singleton felt. b.29 July 1846 to
Edward b Felt and Mary West (Beverly). She married twice.
Her first marriage to a James Egan from Boston, they had
a hotel in or around Salem. He died very young and she
remarried my ggrandfather John C Pond a ships captain. She
went with him on some voyages and had my grandfather and
one of his sisters at see, we were told Zanaibar. I have a half diary I found among my mom's things after she died and it describes one sea voyage and then their move to Topeka Kansas after the shipping industry fell apart.
Hope to hear from you Anne Williams
