I was in the library today and found this:

1790 Census, Easton, Albany, NY
Felt, Jonathan, 1 M +16, 2 F

I have Jonathan FELTs in my line, but can't this Jonathan in Easton, doesn't fit any of them. My suggestion is to check the 1790 census for a Scoville family in Easton or a near-by town. Jonathan Felt seems to be the only Felt in New York in 1790. Mine didn't come until around 1800. My Felts came to New York via Temple, Hillsboro, NH. They originated in Massachuetts (Lynn and Salem) but went to Maine for a short while.
