John, are you still searching for information about the Feltman family? I have resumed ancestor hunting after a hiatus of about three years due to illness. I am looking for the step-father of my grandfather, William Z. Gray, only child of Ben S. and Sarah Gray. They appear on the 1860 census of Tuscaloosa County. Ben lost his life in the War Between the States, and family tradition has it that Sarah married Tom Feltman some time later. I'm beginning to think my elderly aunt had the first name wrong. When I was actively searching earlier, I had correspondence with Jerry Feltman who had suggested that Isham Feltman might be Sarah's second husband. Jerry Feltman was in the process of searching for Feltman family information. Do you know Jerry Feltman? My last communication from him was dated October 2001, so it is highly unlikely he would have the same email address. He told me that Isham Feltman was a member of Company L of the 1st Alabama Cavalry, U.S.A. He was born in Fayette County, Alabama near Beach Grove. He is listed in the "Southern Union Loyalists, Winston County, Alabama." He also sent a copy of an obituary that appeared in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 11/29/2000, reporting the death of Duggar Feltman, 87 years old. The obit listed his wife and children, grandchildren, but did not mention the names of his parents. I hope some of this information is useful to you.
