There is no written correspondence from George Felty. He was an indentured worker and did not know how to read or write. Another soldier did teach him the ABCs by scratching a bullet on wooden ammunition boxes. He ran away from a terrible situation to join the army and had many interesting stories to relate.I have a copy of Prowell's History of the 87th Regiment. Good luck to you in your research.
