According to Edward Fenimore's "Our Fenimore Line", Ruth Fenimore was born 10 March 1870 in New Albany, Indiana, d. 1939. In 1900 she married Clyde O. Haines, b. 1868 in Alliance, Ohio; d. 1947. He was co-founder of the White-Haines Optical Co., later C.O. Haines and Associates, a leading firm in the field in Colombus.
Ruth's father and mother, John Cooper Fenimore and Sarah J. Wilson, moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1879, where they lived until their deaths. Ruth would have been about 9 years old at the time. It seems likely she moved to Columbus with her parents then.
