I know I am related to James Fenimore Cooper by marriage when my cousin Emma May Lewis married Melvin Claude Fenimore.

The second connection is through a land deal with William Cooper, George Croghan and William Franklin.

William Cooper was James Fenimore Coopers father.

George Croghan was an Indian Agent from Pittsburgh

William Franklin was Benjamin Franklin's son and signer of the 1747 Logstown Treaty in Pittsburgh.

I believe William Franklin introduced Ned Myers to James Fenimore Cooper.

I have a Medal of Honor recipient in the Myers family lot in Pittsburgh that connects us to the Myers family of Ft Myers in Lee County Florida. This family, by very solid records, was connected to both the Myers family in Richmond Va and the Myers family of Albany with known Myers relatives at St Johns Canada.

It appears that the Myers family in Richmond Va had a very close relationship to Queen Victoria which blends in nicely with Ned Myers father being the Royal Guard of Queen Victoria's father Prince Edward.

The Myers family were well know boat builders and metal experts. My family were boat builders in Pittsburgh at the time of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. They are married into the Lewis family of Emma Mae Lewis of Pittsburgh who married Melvin Claude Fenimore of Philadelphia.

I believe my Myers family came from Richmond VA and are connected by cemetery, will and business records to Virginia Gov Alexander Spotswood, Maryland Gov Thomas Sim Lee and his son John Lee and John Lee's close friend General Lafayette. Then to Alexander Hamilton and his mother Rachael Fawcett and his grandfather Sir John Pollock. Then to steamboat builder Robert Fulton and last to Albert Gallatin from Pittsburgh.

So yes I am on their trail.
