I really don't know if Ned Myers was ever married to have descendents. I have talked to the James Fenimore Cooper Society about Ned Myers but they were very tight lipped. I believe the Myers and Cooper families are related. It is believed that Ned Myers lived with James Fenimore Cooper for some time.

If we go back to the Myers family of Ft Myers in Lee County Florida, you will find that Frank Myers married Fairlie Cooper who was the daughter of Thomas Apthorpe Cooper and Mary Fairlie. Thomas Abthorpe Cooper was the father of American Theater. Mary Fairlie was a personal friend of writer Washington Irving.

William Myers of Kentucky married Caroline Grundy who was the niece of Felix Grundy. Felix Grundy was President Martin Van Burens Attorney General. The connection between Washington Irving and President Martin Van Buren was well known.

This connects to Major Mordecai Myers the Mayor of Schenectady. His wife Charlotte Bailey was a cousin of Hanna Hoes who was the wife of President Martin Van Buren. The President's son Abraham Van Buren was married to Ann Singleton the cousin of Dolley Madison. The Singletons are married back into the Barnwell and Myers family of Ft Myers. Alexander Hamilton introduced Dolley Payne Todd Madison to James Madison. They were married at Harewood Virginia now West Virginia the home of Charles Washington.

The James Fenimore Cooper Society insists that James Fenimore Cooper was not connected to Thomas Apthorpe Cooper in any way. They also told me they didn't believe James Fenimore Cooper wrote Drums Along the Mohawk. They did say Melvin Claude Fenimore who was married to Emma Mae Lewis was related to James Fenimore Cooper. The Emma May Lewis grandmother is in my family cemetery lot in Pittsburgh.

My source on this is the book Americans of Jewish Descent by Malcolm H Stern plus about 10 emails to the James Fenimore Cooper Society. That along with cemetery records in Pittsburgh.

The book points out that only about 1/3 of the people listed are practicing Jews. The rest are Catholic and/or the many Protestant denominations throughout the US. There are lots of side notes in historical records that the Coopers of Albany were Jewish at one time.

Ned Myers has really been low on my list of research. I do know that you should take the story seriously that Prince Edward was Ned Myers godfather. That his father was a Royal Guard to Prince Edward and that Prince Edward was the father of Queen Victoria.
