Hiram Fessenden was the son of John Fessenden and Lucy Mellon. I am looking for the name of Hirams wife. She died between 1847 and Sept 1850 in or near Ross TWP, Lake Co., Indiand. Here is some information that might help:
Hiram married about 1819 and farmed until 1838 when Hiram and family moved to Porter TWP, Porter Co, Indiana near Lake Michigan. A few years later he moved to Ross TWP in Lake Co, Indiana. After the death of his wife about 1849 the family was broken up and the children were raised in the families of friends and neighbors. In 1860 Hiram was living with the family of Joseph P Smith in Crown Point, Indiana and in 1870 he was living with his son Frederick also living in Crown Point.
Hiram and children are listed in the Ross Township, Lake Co., Indiana Federal 1850 Census that was taken on 17 SEp 1850. Hiram and family were the 70th dwelling and 70th family polled. Hiram is listed as "Hiram Fesenton" Age 50, born in Vermont. The following children were also listed: Julia Ann, Age 20 birth in Penn, Major age 18 birth PA, Bestsy Ann birth 16 birth PA, Frederick E, Age 13 birth in PA, Mary age 9, birth in IN, Sarah age 6 with birth n IN, and Julius age 2 and born in IN
