Bill: I saw your response to Angie concerning Richard Fenimore and Mary Crook. My line is through William, Richard's son, and I agree that most of us Fenimore descendants have Richard as our ancestor. But away back in my research I found a Humphrey Fenimore who was in the British occupation army in Boston in the early 1770's, and who was discharged in Boston in 1774. I have found no more record of him after that. He may have stayed in America. I assume that he came over from England with the army, but he may have been one of Richard's descent from New Jersey.
If from England, he may be a possibility to be some Fenimore's ancestor.
