I don't know where you live, but if you can get to Burlington, NJ there is a library behind the James Fenimore Cooper House on High St. that has genealogical information for many old families from Burlington County. On the back shelf behind the filing cabinets there are two copies of a cream colored book detailing all the lines of Fenimores descending from Richard Fenimore who came to Burlington from England about 1680. The book covers the years 1680-about 1917. My grandmother's maiden name was Fenimore and she was born in 1912. She was the last person entered in the book for her line, and my mother and I were able to trace her ancestors all the way back to Richard by using this one book.
