Dear Christine,
I have the following information:
William A. Fenwick married Petronella M. Johnson10/4/1856 in Washington D. C.
The 1870 Census shows:7th Ward/pg.301
William Fenwick,38(what looks like-Fashion & Blinds Dealer), born in D. C.
Petronella, 33, Keeping House
Wanna, 12, At home
Montgomery, 11, at school
Douglas, 10, at home
McClellan, 8, at home
Philip, 5 at home
Ada, 2, at home.
A William A. Fenwick was an executor for the estate of Philip Fenwick in 1863.His brother in law John Reswick,
husband of Mary Ann, was also an executor.
There is a William A. Fenwick in the 1890 Washington City Directory who is living at 302-11th St. S. W.
A William Albert Fenwick married 10/29/1867 Alice E. Herbert
in Washington, D. C. (This obviously is not the same Wm A. who married Petronella).
I am a cousin of Mary Lee Dante, we are both descendants of Richard Fenwick of Washington, D. C. died 1829.As we are still trying to determine the identity of Richard's parents,
(he was born in St. Mary's Co.), I would be very interested
in the other written information that you have.
Best Wishes,
Susan Wetzl
