There is a book (OUT OF PRINT NOW) called RECORD of the ENGLISH LINE of the REREBEE FAMILY with Notations and Comments written by MISS SARAH CASON FEREBEE copyright 1955. You might find a copy in your Library but if not the Currituck Co. Library in North Carolina has a copy. according to this book which is well documented and Miss Ferebee did make a trip to England to research the FEREBEE'S. The word FERRIBY is Danish and refers to the Hamlet at the side of the ferry. The English Line has us as FERBIE, FEREBIE, FERRIBY, FEREBY, FERREBY, FEREBE, FEREBEE.
his son JOHONIS FEREBY de Palistry 1419-1475

son THOMAS FERRIBY 1505-1565
son WILLIAM FEREBE 1550-1614
son JOSEPH 1600-1660

GEORGE B:1664 married JOHANNA
THOMAS son WILLIAM B; april 13, 1722 married 1745 ELIZABETH (COWPER) COOPER daughter of ISLES COOPER died July 9, 1783
From this point on I think the Ferebees are fairly documented. In another posting I will try to hit the highlights of the FEREBEES in england they were all member of the Kings Courts one being Hanged for his allegiance to RICHARD II.They were quite prominent!! I have a copy of Miss Ferebees book and will do my best to help if I can.
