Ferribe and its many variant spellings is a form of the given name Phariba, a popular female name in the late 1700s. It was not customary to name women with a family surname as a first name in the past. If the name appears as a middle name it is possible in this period that she was named in honor of a relative. Hope that this helps in your research.
