Nancy Fergus, maiden name unknown, was likely the widow of Pliney Fergus. Pliney had died prior to 1836, as mentioned in the will of his father, John Fergus (1752-1837). John Fergus was a Revolutionary War soldier and you can read about him at http://www.mindspring.com/~baumbach/

Nancy remarried to Jeremiah George on 2 Sep 1840 in Haywood Co., NC.

John Fergus, the son of Pliney and Nancy, married Hannah Watson on 24 Nov 1841 in Haywood Co., NC.
