Hi Mrs K Fergusson, RE: James Christie Ferguson, Born at Sterling Castle, Scotland I searched my Great Great Grandfathers name on Google and came up with your post for information. His name was James Christie Ferguson he was born at Stirling Castle approximately 1826 ...and died in the Old Soldiers Home in Chelsea England in 1903 at age 77. He served in the 93rd Highlanders and was involved in the Crimean War battles ... the Battle of Balaclava, Siege of Sevastopol and The Thin Red Line most famous military action by the British Army 93rd (Highland) Regiment. My Dad has his medals from those actions along with the Bugle from the Thin Red Line Battle ... of which James Christie Ferguson was the "Bugler" in his early teen years (14 yrs old?) with the regiment. I have an electronic copy of his Death Certificate my brother, William J. Jr., brought back a certified copy from a 1992 visit he made to the Old Soldiers Home in Chelsea England where James Christie Ferguson died in 1903. I am 53 and my brother will be 55 in August 2006. How old is your husband? Not many persons named Ferguson would have been born specifically at Stirling Castle at about that time we could be related. I live outside of Boston, Massachusetts USA. Fathers name is William Joseph Ferguson (1925) still alive and well WWII Navy Vet will be 81 in July. His Father, my Grandfather, was Robert Douglas Ferguson, died in December 1976(?) have more information. Please reply to rtferguson@comcast.net Sincerely, Robert T. Ferguson, Esq.
