Hi Anne,

I am not sure if you found your connection yet but I noticed your old post in a few places and did some digging. Jemima is the daughter of Oren Fernald and Hannah Newman of Gouldsboro. In the 1900 census of Winter Harbor ME, her name is listed as Mina. One source says she was b. 13 Jul 1861. The census has 1862. They were married about 1895 according to the census. She had had 5 children and 3 were living. Only two stepsons are listed in the family in 1900. Duncan McDonald age 15 and Joseph H. McDonald age 12. I believe the third child was named Irving 1883.
He lived next to the widow Ida Fernald in Gouldsboro, ME in 1910 and 1920. Ida Whitaker was the wife of Hiram Fernald. Hiram is the brother of Jemima.
Joseph McDonald was also living in Gouldsboro in 1920.
If I am correct Jemima/Mina was 1st married on 8 Jan 1881 to Laughlin McDonald of Canada. She died abt 1903.
Handy Yeaton is a widower in 1910 Steuben, ME. living with son Lamont age 8.
Winter Harbor, Steuben and Gouldsboro are all near each other.

Hope this helps

Bob Fernald
