Hi Susan, In 1900 Epping, NH she is listed as Sarah A. Norris, widowed she had had 4 children all surving in 1900. living with her are: Thomas b. Jun 1859 Daniel b. Mar 1873 dau Jennie S. McMurphy b. Jan 1864 with her husband Edwin? W. McMurphy b. Aug 1852 Thomas Jr. is actually her stepson as Thomas Sr was married previously on 26 Mar 1855 to Clarissa J. True. She died 20 DEC 1860. If Mary was the daughter of Sarah Abigail, Then she had to have had 5 children even though the 1900 census says she only had 4 children. In 1880 Epping, NH Thomas J. Norris 47 Abbie S. 38 Carrie E. 24 Thomas E. T. 21 Mary A. 18 Sarah J. 16 Fred F. 14 James D. age 13 Daniel L. age 5 In 1870 Epping, NH Thomas J. Norris 35 Abbie S. 28 Carrie E. 14 Thomas E. T. 11 Mary A. 8 Sarah J. 6 Fred F. 4 James D. age 3 In 1860, Epping, NH Thomas J. Norris 27 Clarrisa J. 23 Carrie E. 4 Thomas E. P. 1 Sarah 60 I could not find an Abbie in Barrington. I did see a Sarah A. Fernald but she was b. 1838. Its possible the date could be off. But it was the same in 1850 and 1860. If she is Sarah Abigail Fernald her parents were: John S. Fernald a physician b. in ME abt 1800. and Mary A. b.in NH abt 1812. There is also a Sarah A. Fernald in Lee NH. age 18 in 1860. She lives in Reuben and Lois Head's household. Nehemiah C. Fernald also lives there with his wife and child, He was the son of Isaac Fernald and Mary Drew. The Family Search LDS web site has that Isaac was born in Barrington. And he was living there in 1840! He is in Lee, NH in 1860!! But I could not find them in 1850 to confirm if Sarah Abigail is listed in his household. She must be related to Nehemiah's family somehow. I would think she is Nehemiah's sister. I wonder where they were in 1850. I believe this line goes: Isaac Fernald Mary Drew Isaac Fernald and Mary Peary Isaac Fernald and Judith Hill Abraham Fernald and Mary Trickey Thomas Fernald and Mary Thompson John Fernald and Mary Norman Spinney Renald/Reginald Fernald and Joanna Warburton Hope this helps.
