Amos Fernald "Sr." was residing in Lee in 1775 age 24, so born about 1750 or 1751. He was a Cordwainer. He enlisted and participated in the Revolutionary War in Capt. Winborn Adam's Company.

Lee was part of and closely associated with Durham, NH. And Durham with Dover NH.

Dimond Fernald/Furnald and Abraham Fernald also a James Fernald lived in the area.
