My 2 x great grandmother was Anna Katrina Fernnau, she married 26th December 1863 to Wilhelm Meyer at the German Protestant reform church in Whitechapel. Her father was Herman Fernau a shoe maker from Blankenbach, Hessen. Mother according to my great grand mother Laura Ellen Meyer was Elizabeth Young? - sounds too English? Sarg looks more authentic! Wilhelm Meyer according to 1881 census was born in Hessen Cassel (probably Kassel) but my great grandmother thought he came from Hamburg. In both the 1881 & 1891 census Anna Catherina is stated as born Hessen Cassel?
Re: Elizabeth (Sarg or Young) - according to my great grandmother - she had a sister Anna who married an August Weige. The Weige family stayed close to the Meyer family into the 20th century, both families living in Whitechapel area of E.London.
