I read your messages about the various branches of the Feron family with interest. I live in St Etienne in France but my father's family came from Moult near Caen in the Calvados area of north-west France. There would still appear to be a large number of Férons in this area. Perhaps your ancestor also came from the Calvados area.

My grandfather, Eugène Féron, was captured by the Germans during the Second World War and was released into the un-occupied part of France following the Vichy treaty. He went to work as head of safety in the mines in St Etienne where he met my grandmother, Marie Valla. They had a son (my father) whose name is André.

Does anyone else have any information on my branch of the Féron family?

Christophe Féron
