Thank you Janet I read what you have on your site.Elizabeth Forbush was b. 1728 she would have been about 31 when Isaac died and 87 when she died. She and James Jones had several children.
The records indicate Isaac moved to VA around 1740/41 with his sister Magdelena Ferree Buffington and her husband.Isaac was one of the first settlers in Patterson Manor, 1740(Chaulkeys Chronicles). He left around the time that the French (Bradley) and Indians burned out the area. He and Elizabeth returned to PA (Jacob b. 1750 in PA). They moved to NC around 1752/53 (Property record from Morgan Bryan to Isaac Free in 1753, NC). The sale, of his property in VA, to John Gilmore was finalize in 1771 after his estate was settled between Elizabeth(Jones) and Gilmore's son. (Court Records).
Rebecca Free/Marlatte/Critchfield named her daughter Olie Marlatte, after her Grandmother, Olie Forbush.
Olie Marlatte married and remained in KY.
After John Marlatte's death Rebecca married Palmer Critchfield in NC (court record) and moved to VA (Property records). After Critchfield's death she moved to KY and lived on Jabob's property (letter to Jacob Free, her brother).
I have the descendants of Rebecca and Jacob if you would like to have them.
To my knowledge there is not a record of an Elizabeth LaFever in the age group of Isaac. There is a later record of an Isaac Free and Elizabeth LaFever married in NC but it was quite a while after my Isaac's death.I am not sure I still have it.
There are many (honest) errors that have been continued from old research. Many of them have been corrected and I had hoped this one was.I have furnished several researchers the court records.I am in the process of typing my family information for my relatives and will be tied up with that for a while but when I have time I will be happy to send you copies of what I have.
We are all free to record what we believe.I was so confused when I first started researching and had things stated as fact that had not been documented. I have tried very hard to document my information and/or qualify it with Laws and court records.
Happy Hunting Dorothea
