Linda, I'm thinking that is correct also but don't have the link between John and Amos confirmed. I've just sent a letter to the sole surviving child of John Franklin asking for some help. I'm hoping to hear back from her within a week or so. A daughter-in-law is also still living who is up in her late 80's or early 90's but still doing pretty good. I'm going to ask for her address from her daughter and see if I can get some help from her as well.

You'll note on the 1900 Latrobe, Westmoreland, PA (Jefferson Street) census, Amos is living in the household of Augustus Deman and is his father-in-law. The indication that Amos was divorced is smudged on the census form, but I'm thinking that he was. Don't see the 1910 census right now, but by the 1920 census, he is still living with Augustus Demine and his marital status was "widow" age 73. His death certificate says he died October 25, 1925 at the age of 79 yrs. He was born May 4, 1846 Freeport, PA. His father was George Ferree born at Redbank, PA and his mother was Frances Sl______ born in Pennsylvania. Looks like whoever was filling out the certificate got interrupted and never did finish her last name!!!!! But could have been the beginning of Sippy. At any rate, it shows his wife was Lavina J. Brummer (Brunner?) Shows he was widowed at the time of his death. The undertaker was Davidson & Bennett in Youngstown.

I'd really appreciate if if you would keep in touch on this family.

How are you related? You may contact me via email also at Thanks for your help!!
