Ferree-Feerer-Feerrar Connection
Posted by: Phil Feerrar (ID *****4701) Date: August 31, 2010 at 15:44:06

I did the dna test thing and to my surprise it appears I am related to Ferree's from the 1700's in central Pennsylvania. Since 1840 our family has spelled it Feerrar but tombstones show it as Feerer in the 1820's and 30's. Prior to this we have no clue. My gggg grandfather Jacob Feerrar was born in 1804 in what is now Union County, His wife Christiana Long Feerrar was born in 1812. They settled in Aaronsburg PA and later Salona. Jacob, we think, had brothers John (died 1837) and Joseph. Are there any Ferree out there with a central PA connection that perhaps can shed light on how the Feerrar's are really Ferree's?
