Thanks for the information but this is not my Leonard family.
The name was possibly taken to England by the Leonards participating in the Saxon invasion.
A branch also immigrated to France during the Middle ages and became Hugenots. They fled France back to Germany during the persecution of the Hugenots via Switzerland.
